During our Dubai vacation we made a day trip by car in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Being an administrative center of the Emirate with the same name, Abu Dhabi is on a T-shaped island, opening to the Arabian Gulf. We visited there: Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Etihad Towers, Emirates Palace and Marina Mall.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque is the largest mosque in the Emirate and has the longest carpet in the world of 5627 sqm.
Etihad Towers are located opposite the Emirates Palace hotel and have offices, apartments and a hotel. Construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2011.
The palace is a five-star luxury hotel operated by Kempinski, the project was started in December 2001 and opened in November 2005. The hotel's design is a playful mix of prized Islamic architectural elements, such as balance, geometry, proportions, rhythm and hierarchical accent. to create a unified whole. The grand dome inspired by elaborate geometric patterns dominates over 114 smaller domes scattered throughout the building. The exterior color aims to reflect different shades of sands found in the Arabian desert. You can only visit in appropriate clothing, men must have white dresses.
Marina Mall is a shopping center and entertainment venue that opened in March 2001 and is located along the space on Corniche Road near the Emirates Hotel. I recommend you visit it, you will find a lot of brands and affordable prices.
