Because we are always thinking about vacations and it is the best way to get out of the routine and enjoy our soul, I decided to tell you about our departure to London in February.
At the end of February this year, we decided to visit London, so we looked for various offers on the websites of travel agencies, but we booked the flight Bucharest - Luton Airport with Blue Air, about 4 months before departure. The price was 340 euros for two people.
Between February 24-29, 2020 the airline ticket to the same company is 150 euros for a couple, with hand luggage of 10 kg. There is the possibility of upgrading the ticket with hold baggage, meal, place reserved in plane, etc., I notice that for next year the prices are much better.
So we arrived at the airport in London where we took the train to Walthamstow Central. The hotel we stayed at was Ibis Style London Walthamstow, the price being reasonable for a couple, 255 euros with breakfast included. It is located on the outskirts of London, close to the Blackwall Tunnel and Leyton Midland Road Underground Station is a 10-minute walk away. The staff was very friendly, some of them being Romanian, and the value for money was ok.
The transport network in London is very complex and well developed. So, there is the opportunity to walk with the famous 2-storey red buses, Underground, train, or you can choose water transport. Prices differ depending on the areas where you want to get, the method of payment, the type of means of public transport but also the hours at which you choose to travel.
We visited for free several tourist spots sights such as: National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Abbey Road, Oxford Street, Covent Garden (the nightlife in London is memorable). We went on a Cruise on the Thames, visited Greenwich Observatory and did some Hop on hop off buss rides.
